The Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde Independent School District police power are no longer cooperating with the Texas Department of Public Safety's investigation into the massacre at Robb Elementary College and the state's overview of the law enforcement response, a number of legislation enforcement sources inform ABC Information.
The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Impartial Faculty District did not instantly reply to requests for comment from ABC News.
Based on sources, the choice to cease cooperating occurred quickly after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news conference Friday during which he stated the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the fallacious choice" and contrary to protocol.
