Drunk driver crashes, heads straight to dealership to attempt to sell broken car with missing tire

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Police say they arrested a driver who was 3.5 occasions the legal alcohol limit after at the very least five individuals called 911.

Officers say the calls started coming in round 4:40 p.m. Monday.

They say witnesses reported seeing a SUV hit the median of the Lloyd Expressway near the Major Road exit. They say the crash brought on a flat tire and the automobile to smoke, however the driver kept going.

Other callers say the driver was everywhere in the street and now missing a front tire.

They are saying he finally stopped at a car dealership and appeared “tremendous drunk.”

Workers advised police the driver, 30-year-old Jordon Mattingly, was making an attempt to promote his SUV.

Police say he had swelling and scratches as if he had just been in a crash.

They are saying Mattingly smelled of alcohol and almost fell a number of occasions. Officers say he examined .291 on a portable breath test.

Police say inside his SUV, they found 4 Loko cans and a can of White Claw.

Mattingly is dealing with several fees.

He's the son of the supervisor for the Miami Marlins and former skilled baseball player, Don Mattingly.
