Man arrested in connection with “college shooter” indicators present in 3 New Hampshire communities

BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A person was arrested Friday after multiple signs saying "college shooter" have been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Security announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple fees. 

An elevated quantity of cops were positioned at colleges within the communities as a result of the signs. Multiple faculties initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly placed the signs across the communities, the Division of Security said, however they determined there is no credible menace right now.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The protection division released a photo of the plate however blurred part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of prison threatening and three misdemeanor prices together with false report back to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and felony threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged at this time.
