Casey White manhunt ends in Indiana, accomplice Vicky White dies, police say – KIRO 7 News Seattle

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Alabama fugitive Casey White was taken into custody in Indiana, and his suspected confederate, Vicky White, died Monday evening from accidents sustained by a self-inflicted gunshot wound as authorities prepared to arrest the pair, regulation enforcement sources confirmed.

Update 9:25 p.m. EDT Might 9: Vanderburgh County Sheriff Dave Marriage ceremony confirmed Vicky White’s death to The Related Press simply after 9 p.m. EDT Monday. Earlier in the evening, Wedding characterised Vicky White’s self-inflicted accidents as “very serious” following a police pursuit and rollover crash.

In line with Vanderburgh Coroner Steve Lockyear, Vicky White died simply after 7 p.m. CDT at Deaconess Hospital, and an autopsy is schedule for Tuesday, Fox Information reported.

Unique report: Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said the 2 fugitives, who are not associated, had been caught near Evansville, Indiana, after a chase with U.S. Marshals, The Associated Press reported.

“Casey White and Vicky White are in custody,” Singleton stated. “This has ended a really long and anxious and challenging week and a half. It ended the way in which that we knew it could. They are in custody.”

Casey White is now charged with escape, and Vicky White is charged with allowing/aiding an escape, id theft and second-degree forgery, AL.com reported.

Vicky White was a jail officer at the prison that was holding Casey White, who was awaiting trial for capital homicide. Inmates and officials stated they had a “particular relationship,” the AP reported.

The pair had been on the run since April 29 when the 56-year-old jailer told the Lauderdale County Detention Center in Florence, Alabama, that she was transporting the 38-year-old inmate for a psychological analysis. As a substitute, they fled.

Based on WAAY-TV, the fugitives were captured after a pursuit ended when the vehicle they were driving crashed.

In keeping with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff, the police pursuit started when the couple was noticed near the sheriff’s office and resulted in a rollover crash close to Evansville Regional Airport, WXIN reported.

Casey White surrendered to police following the crash.

Sheriff Dave Marriage ceremony of Vanderburgh County Indiana confirmed to WXIN that Vicky White’s injuries are serious and were self-inflicted when she shot herself at some point throughout or on the end of the pursuit.

Marriage ceremony also confirmed to the TV station that Vicky White was driving the Cadillac the fugitives have been in at the time of the crash. Singleton had beforehand reported Casey White as the motive force and the crashed automobile as a Ford F-150.

In line with AL.com, U.S. Marshals were notified Sunday evening that a 2006 Ford F-150 had been discovered at an Evansville automobile wash.

“This escape was clearly well-planned and calculated. Lots of preparation went into this. That they had loads of resources, had tags, had vehicles. They had every part they needed to tug this off,” Singleton mentioned throughout a Monday night press conference.

“We acquired a harmful man off the road as we speak. He is never going to see the light of day again, and that’s an excellent factor, not only for our community but that’s a very good thing for this nation,” he added.

Evansville is about 175 miles north of Williamson County, Tennessee, where authorities on Thursday discovered the orange 2007 Ford Edge the pair used in their April 29 escape, the information outlet reported.
