- Mehr zu SEO Mitte der 1990er Jahre fingen die anstehenden Suchmaschinen an, das frühe Web zu katalogisieren. Die Seitenbesitzer erkannten rasch den Wert einer nahmen Listung in den Suchergebnissen und recht bald fand man Organisation, die sich auf die Optimierung spezialisierten. In Anfängen bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt die Aufnahme oft über die Übertragung der URL der entsprechenden Seite an die diversen Suchmaschinen im Netz. Diese sendeten dann einen Webcrawler zur Betrachtung der Seite aus und indexierten sie.[1] Der Webcrawler lud die Internetseite auf den Webserver der Suchseite, wo ein weiteres Computerprogramm, der so genannte Indexer, Infos herauslas und katalogisierte (genannte Wörter, Links zu diversen Seiten). Die neuzeitlichen Varianten der Suchalgorithmen basierten auf Informationen, die aufgrund der Webmaster selber vorgegeben werden, wie Meta-Elemente, oder durch Indexdateien in Internet Suchmaschinen wie ALIWEB. Meta-Elemente geben einen Gesamteindruck mit Thema einer Seite, doch registrierte sich bald raus, dass die Verwendung der Hinweise nicht solide war, da die Wahl der genutzten Schlüsselworte dank dem Webmaster eine ungenaue Beschreibung des Seiteninhalts repräsentieren vermochten. Ungenaue und unvollständige Daten in Meta-Elementen konnten so irrelevante Websites bei einzigartigen Benötigen listen.[2] Auch versuchten Seitenersteller verschiedene Punkte binnen des HTML-Codes einer Seite so zu lenken, dass die Seite richtiger in Ergebnissen aufgeführt wird.[3] Da die späten Suchmaschinen sehr auf Punkte abhängig waren, die nur in Taschen der Webmaster lagen, waren sie auch sehr instabil für Missbrauch und Manipulationen in der Positionierung. Um tolle und relevantere Resultate in Ergebnissen zu bekommen, mussten wir sich die Besitzer der Internet Suchmaschinen an diese Ereignisse anpassen. Weil der Gelingen einer Search Engine davon abhängig ist, relevante Ergebnisse der Suchmaschine zu den inszenierten Keywords anzuzeigen, konnten unpassende Urteile dazu führen, dass sich die Benutzer nach sonstigen Möglichkeiten wofür Suche im Web umschauen. Die Auskunft der Search Engines lagerbestand in komplexeren Algorithmen fürs Ranking, die Merkmalen beinhalteten, die von Webmastern nicht oder nur schwer beeinflussbar waren. Larry Page und Sergey Brin entwickelten mit „Backrub“ – dem Vorläufer von Suchmaschinen – eine Suchseiten, die auf einem mathematischen Suchsystem basierte, der mit Hilfe der Verlinkungsstruktur Websites gewichtete und dies in den Rankingalgorithmus einfluss besitzen ließ. Auch alternative Suchmaschinen im WWW orientiert in Mitten der Folgezeit die Verlinkungsstruktur bspw. gesund der Linkpopularität in ihre Algorithmen mit ein. Bing
Is using a server side wildcard redirect good practice? This was done but the old domain urls are still indexed a year later. Rankings for the new domain are still terrible and not the same as before the change of address tool.

My question is that we see the usage of webp images more frequently, also Apple announced that he will support Google’s webp image format. Looking at most of the webshops using webp already the type of the image is webp, but they leave the extension of jpg for example https://google.com/image.jpg but type is webp. What could be the reason for that? Wouldn't it be better if the image would have a .webp extension or no extension at all. Is this related somehow to indexing or SEO? I think they do not want to make the redirect of the images and that’s why they change just the type of the file instead of changing the extension.

We did domain name change some months ago and over 3 months everything was fine in terms of ranking, then suddenly we lost all our ranking. All SEO guru have been indicating it's duplicate content issue because both old and new domain contents are on one server. Can you drop some light on this?

If you migrate your website then check out 301 redirect a few times. Even more, after migration control your redirects because it might break in some time.
