Talking in the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead until I really feel higher concerning the course of our country."

In a weblog submit, Kapler questioned whether the nation's management is committed to representing its individuals's best interests and whether or not the United States is truly "the land of the free and the home of the brave."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he called "the dearth of delivery of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I might have demonstrated what I discovered from my dad, that while you're dissatisfied together with your nation, you let or not it's identified by means of protest. The home of the courageous ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action towards gun violence in the United States.

Kerr refused to speak about basketball forward of Game 4 of the Warriors' collection against the Dallas Mavericks, instead elevating his voice as he railed against gun violence within the wake of Tuesday's shooting.

"In the final 10 days, we've had aged Black people killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've youngsters murdered at college," Kerr instructed reporters firstly of the press convention.

"When are we going to do one thing? I'm drained. I'm so tired of getting up right here and providing condolences to the devastated households that are out there ... I'm uninterested in the moments of silence. Sufficient."
