Florida man will get life in jail for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors – WFTV

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in jail for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met online, in response to officers.

The U.S. Department of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two completely different instances in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Court records say he flew back and forth disguising himself as an English teacher.

A few of the boys, based on the DOJ, were lured with promises of money and gifts. Others launched him as their English teacher.

The Tampa Bay Information says Homeland Safety investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh Metropolis. It was part of Undertaking Secure Childhood, which was an effort to seek out little one intercourse abuse started in 2006 by the DOJ.

“The legal guidelines of the USA will still catch as much as little one predators who even journey to overseas nations to sexually abuse minor youngsters. Due to HSI’s international investigative authorities and strong partnerships, each at HSI Tampa and HSI Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, this sexual predator was stopped from harming more youngsters and his victim may have the justice they deserve,” said HSI Tampa Assistant Special Agent in Cost John Dumas, in line with a information release from said HSI Tampa Assistant Particular Agent in Cost John Dumas.

Day pleaded responsible to 2 counts of journey with intent to interact in illicit sexual conduct and two counts of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor into illegal sexual activity, in accordance with the DOJ. Day has been sentenced to life in jail.
