EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Police say they arrested a driver who was 3.5 instances the authorized alcohol restrict after at least 5 individuals known as 911.
Officers say the calls began coming in round 4:40 p.m. Monday.
They say witnesses reported seeing a SUV hit the median of the Lloyd Expressway near the Most important Road exit. They say the crash brought on a flat tire and the car to smoke, but the driver stored going.
Other callers say the motive force was everywhere in the road and now lacking a entrance tire.
They say he ultimately stopped at a automotive dealership and appeared “tremendous drunk.”
Workers informed police the motive force, 30-year-old Jordon Mattingly, was making an attempt to promote his SUV.
Police say he had swelling and scratches as if he had just been in a crash.
They say Mattingly smelled of alcohol and almost fell a number of times. Officers say he tested .291 on a portable breath test.
Police say inside his SUV, they discovered Four Loko cans and a can of White Claw.
Mattingly is dealing with several fees.
He is the son of the supervisor for the Miami Marlins and former professional baseball player, Don Mattingly.
