Comic Andy Dick arrested on suspicion of sexual battery in California

Comic Andy Dick was arrested Wednesday at a campground in Orange County, California, on suspicion of sexual battery, authorities stated.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Division responded to O’Neill Regional Park around 9 a.m. after the adult male victim referred to as authorities about a potential sexual assault, mentioned Sgt. Scott Steinle, a sheriff’s spokesman.

Dick, 56, was arrested on suspicion of felony sexual battery, Steinle stated.

The sheriff’s department wouldn't provide extra particulars about the nature of the allegations.

The Orange County District Lawyer’s Office had not acquired the case Wednesday and has not made a charging resolution, spokeswoman Kimberly Edds mentioned.

Deputies responded to a campground space of the 4,500-acre park close to the Santa Ana Mountains in Southern California, the place they met the victim and ultimately arrested Dick, Steinle stated.

Dick was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail Wednesday, in accordance with jail information. It was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney who could converse on his behalf within the incident.

A person who has been Dick’s supervisor did not respond to a request for comment.

Dick was accused of groping a male ride-share driver in West Hollywood in 2018 and charged the next year with misdemeanor sexual battery.

Dick has pleaded not responsible, and the case is set for trial, said his lawyer in that matter, Daniel Kapelovitz. Kapelovitz stated he doesn't symbolize Dick in Wednesday’s incident and had not spoken to him.
