A girl visiting Yellowstone National Park was gored by a bison and tossed into the air, park officials stated Tuesday.
The 25-year-old lady, who was visiting from Ohio, was not identified in a news release from the park.
The lady approached the female bison Monday morning after it came close to a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, close to Old Trustworthy geyser, the park mentioned.

An estimated 2,300 to 5,500 bison reside at the park, and they have injured extra people than another animal, the park mentioned.
When the visitor came within 10 toes of the animal, the bison impaled her and "tossed" her 10 feet in the air, the park said.
The lady had puncture wounds and other injuries and was taken to a hospital in Idaho, the service stated. Her situation was unknown Tuesday.
Two other people had been also near the animal when it gored the girl, the park mentioned. The discharge didn’t say if they have been injured.
The park warned folks to stay 25 yards from bison, elk, bighorn sheep and moose and no less than 100 yards from bears and wolves.
CORRECTION (June 1, 2022, 12:07 p.m. ET) A previous model of this text misstated the severity of the lady’s accidents. She was gored by a bison and suffered puncture wounds. She was not killed.
