However, it seems some workers need to earn a living from home additional. Recently, a whole lot of workers have resigned when a company requested them to return to the workplace.
Over 800 WhiteHat Jr workers have resigned from the youngsters on-line coding learning edtech start-up in the last two months after being requested to work from office.
This comes after WhiteHat Jr, a platform which was acquired by BYJU’S in 2020, asked its workers to return to office inside a month’s time, according to an Inc42 report.
On March 18, the company announced the policy to finish work from home and asked distant staff to return to workplace by April 18.
The resignations got here from full-time workers of the gross sales, coding, and math teams. More workers are anticipated to put down their papers within the coming months.
One of the employees who resigned told the web site that a month’s time was not enough for relocation. “Some have kids, some have aged and sick mother and father, while others produce other tasks. It isn't right to call again staff in such a short period of time,” the former WhiteHat Jr worker stated.
One other employee said salaries also factored in the resolution to not return to the workplace. On the time of hiring, staff had been instructed about their job location – WhiteHat Jr has workplaces in Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru. However, after working from house for 2 years, staff believed that their salaries should be revised to replicate the cost of residing in costly cities.
“This was a well-planned and managed layoff that WhiteHat Jr did,” a former employee remarked.
